Manchester United are preparing a bid for Benfica star Angel Di Maria.

The 21-year old Argentinean, who has come with a high recommendation from national team boss Diego Maradona, is attracting interest from many clubs including the Red Devils who are believed to be very keen on luring him to Old Trafford.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be prepared to pay up to £12million for the classy South American who will be on show against Everton at Goodison Park in the Europa League tonight.

Di Maria only has a wiry frame but is very skilful, similar to when Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club and Ferguson will run the rule over him against a hard-tackling Everton outfit to see if he is up to the task.
