Manchester United are being linked with a surprise raid on River Plate.

TNT Sports report United have joined the race to sign Nicolas De La Cruz.

The River Plate midfielder has emerged as a key player for the South American side and that hasn't escaped the attention of United.

United would be willing to pay up to €20million (£17.1m) for his services.

De La Cruz is also on the radar of several Serie A teams this summer.
