Manchester United will spend next week locked in talks for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. The Daily Star says the champions will spend a week pressing ahead with their bid to land Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo had six happy years working with Sir Alex Ferguson, winning three Premier League titles as well as picking up the Champions League trophy. United have been working on a deal to sign Ronaldo in a £60m switch this summer.

They have been investigating putting together a £250,000-a-week offer, along with club sponsors Chevrolet and Nike.
