Manchester United have identified Dougie Freedman as their new head of recruitment.

Per The Independent, the Red Devils are set to make an official approach to Crystal Palace.

The London club are not willing to lose Freedman without a fight, given their own situation.

Palace are narrowly above the relegation zone and know the importance of the coming summer transfer window.

However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to bring in Freedman to Old Trafford, given his knowledge of the game.

He is also admired by United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, who has spent a lot of time with Ratcliffe recently.
