Manchester United have opened talks with Juventus fullback Joao Cancelo.

TMW says United made contact with Cancelo's agent Jorge Mendes last week to confirm their interest.

United see the Portugal international as a replacement for departing captain Antonio Valencia, with doubts over Matteo Darmian also being raised.

United are willing to offer €50m for Cancelo - though Juve rate him closer to €65m.

The Bianconeri's valuation raises the prospect of Darmian being added to United's bid to make up the difference.
