Man Utd midfielder Van de Beek tribute to Everton

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has paid tribute to loan club Everton.

Van de Beek's time in L4 was largely ruined by injury issues. At West Ham United, he was scheduled to start but was injured in the warm-up.

Van de Beek did get to sign off with a goal at least, although it was the consolation in a 5-1 loss to Arsenal on the final day of the Premier League season. A day on from that defeat, he posted a message to Evertonians on social media.

"Not the way we wanted to finish the season but we already reached our goal a few days ago," said the former Ajax man, in reference to Everton's 3-2 win over Crystal Palace that secured Premier League safety.

"I want to thank all the players, staff and especially the fans who were there in the good and tough times. Up the Toffees."
