Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was talking up the need for a striker signing within 24 hours of Liverpool landing Cody Gakpo.
The PSV Eindhoven striker was expected to join United in January, but it's now been announced he is moving to Anfield.
Ten Hag stated before the announcement: "Yes, we realise we lost an attacker (Cristiano Ronaldo), and yes, we have to get an attacker in.
"But it has to be the right one, and the right one is the one that can bring quality to the team, and not just be an addition to the squad, because it only gives you trouble."
