Man Utd matchwinner McTominay matches Solskjaer record

Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay was the first Manchester United substitute to bag an added-time winner in European competition since ex-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United needed McTominay to come off the bench to score in the 93rd minute against Omonia in the Europa League group stages at Old Trafford.

It turns out that McTominay is the first United sub to score after the 90th minute in a European game since Solskjaer in the 1999 Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

United were by far the better side against Omonia, amassing ample shots and clear cut chances.

However, they were denied by a mixture of poor finishing and great goalkeeping.

McTominay, when he got a chance late in the game, did not fluff his lines to secure his side the points.
