Manchester United are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger and Tottenham's Tom Huddlestone. The Daily Star suggests that Sir Alex Ferguson has placed the midfield duo at the top of his January wishlist as he is worried about some of his ageing stars such as Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

Ferguson was previously keen on Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder but after he signed a new long-term deal with the Italian club, the Red Devils boss has shifted his focus to Schweinsteiger.

Reports say that Ferguson is confident he can get the 26-year old over the line in the next transfer window and will also make a move for the much-improved Huddlestone.
