Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson says Bastian Schweinsteiger has made the right decision to move to MLS.

The German has joined Chicago Fire this week.

Ferguson told ESPN: "I think he has a lot of quality left in the body, he has been unlucky with injuries in recent seasons.

"He could not have timed it better.

"He is an important character and was very popular among both fans and players at United, he will definitely make a mark in MLS."
