Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is on the brink of taking the Oldham Athletic job.
The Mirror says he has been given the green light to take over at Boundary Park following an English Football League meeting.
Scholes owns a stake in National League outfit Salford City along with former team-mates Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Nicky Butt as well as Singapore businessman Peter Lim.
EFL rules state a person can't hold roles at two different clubs at the same time without their permission.
However, it is understood Scholes, a lifelong Latics fan, has been cleared to take the reins at the League Two outfit.
