Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has revealed how he first was put in his place by a young David Beckham!

Robson was one of the top-table guests at the Football Writers' Tribute Dinner for the LA Galaxy star, and he revealed: "There I was, captain of Manchester United, captain of England and I was coming back from injury and found myself playing for the reserves with the likes of Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Becks against a team of bruisers from Liverpool.

"I'm lining up a free-kick and suddenly I hear this voice ... 'Er, Bryan, I take these,' it said. The next thing you know, whoosh, and the ball's in the back of the net."
