Manchester United legend Gary Neville says Twitter has become part of English football culture.
Speaking about football and the media at the Soccerex event in Manchester Neville, who has over 500,000 followers on the messaging site, is a fan of the service despite occasional problems with abuse.
He said: "If you are in the media, or you are a football fan, you cannot not be on it. People who are football fans and I have spoken to, I say look forget the stories about the abuse, follow people and you will get so much information fed so quickly, and that is the reason I use it predominantly, because it is just the quickest source of information.
"All the journalists' articles, all the news from the Premier League and the Championship - and it's not going to go away. For me it is a good thing."
