Man Utd keeper De Gea deflects question about Henderson comments

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea insists he hasn't taken notice of comments made by Dean Henderson.

Henderson said he was "fuming" that United reneged on a decision to make him their first-choice goalkeeper last season.

The Englishman has since impressed on loan with Nottingham Forest after making just three cup appearances for United last season.

Asked about Henderson's comments, De Gea said: "I have to do my job, to try to be better every day. I don't think it's the time to talk about our team and what happened last season, we should be more focused on the season now. I have no comments about that."

United face Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova on Thursday, and De Gea wants to win the Europa League this season.

"It's a great competition, of course in my opinion we should be playing Champions League, but this is a competition we have to play for, we will go with everything, I have very good memories of this competition," said De Gea.

"We lost the first one so we have to try to win the game tomorrow against a difficult team. For sure it's a special competition."
