Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is considering a shock move for Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez.
Ferguson is moving for Lopez, having been impressed with his performances in the club's two goalless draws in the Champions League this season, according to reports in Spain.
The United manager first voiced praise for 27-year-old Lopez after the club's fixture in Villarreal. His deal runs out in 2014. Lopez signed for Villarreal for £5 million from Real Madrid last year and has also attracted a formal approach from Chelsea since Christmas.
