Manchester United have identified Idrissa Gueye as a potential replacement for Ander Herrera.
The Spaniard is expected to leave United as a free agent this summer, with the club unwilling to meet his £200,000-a-week wage demands.
That has turned United towards Everton midfielder Gueye, who was targeted by PSG in January.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named the Senegalese international as a leading candidate to boost his midfield for next season.
The 29-year-old, who has been outstanding for the Toffees in recent seasons, could be available for less than £30million.
