Man Utd hope Ferdinand only week away

Manchester United are counting on Rio Ferdinand for next week.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping centre-half Ferdinand will be able to return to the team at Wigan on Saturday.

Ferdinand's injury toll is now expected to be a four-match absence.

The England captain, 32, has a calf problem and Fergie doesn't expect him to be ready for Wednesday's Champions League game in Marseille.
