Former Manchester United star Mickey Thomas believes it's the right time to sell Wayne Rooney.

Thomas is fully aware of Rooney being booed when he boarded the bus for United's title parade.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "The reaction he got from the fans suggests they're not going to be so forgiving if he does stay.

"And the last thing the new manager needs is this kind of distraction. Maybe the time has come for Wayne to go elsewhere."
