Manchester United hero Nani featured in the abandoned Melbourne Derby clash on Saturday.
The A-League game being called off after fans invaded the pitch and attacked Melbourne City's goalkeeper.
Supporters encroached the pitch in the 21st minute and City shot-stopper Thomas Glover was attacked - having a bin smashed into his face. The incident came amid fury about the A-League's decision to send the next three grand finals to Sydney.
A mass walkout had been planned in the 20th minute, but tempers boiled over and fans ran onto the pitch shortly after Glover appeared to throw a flare back into the crowd.
The 24-year-old was left bloodied after being struck in the face, with the game later being abandoned and bloodied Glover was reportedly hospitalised. City had a 1-0 lead over Nani's side Melbourne Victory when the game was stopped.
