Former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce isnkt surprised by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's success at Old Trafford.
Bruce will take over at Sheffield Wednesday early next month, after leaving Aston Villa in October of last year, once he returns from his trip watching England cricket take on the West Indies in Barbados.
During his time away from the game some pundits, including Paul Ince, touted Bruce as a temporary option for United.
“Not surprised," Bruce told BBC Football Daily when asked if he was surprised to see Solskjaer start so well, having won his opening seven games in charge of the Reds.
“Listen you would always want to win six or seven on the belt. He's a very likeable lad, well thought of at Old Trafford, well thought of by the supporters, and he's had a great start long may it continue for him.
“Well, I think they had Ole in mind. I don't know I really don't know. I heard the rumours too that they were flying around, but nothing came of it. I wish Ole the best of luck. He's a really good lad and a really top bloke. People like him in football deserve a crack.
"No [I wasn't offered it]."
