Man Utd have new role organised for Rooney

Manchester United are ready to make Wayne Rooney a club ambassador.

The Sun says he will be offered an ambassador's job at Manchester United at the end of his career.

Rooney's future remains in doubt, with the possibility of a switch to China or America still an option at the end of the season.

Former club Everton would also love to take him back to Goodison – if he is prepared to take a massive pay cut.

Yet when he eventually hangs up his boots, United top brass are keen to hand him an ambassadorial role alongside other former greats.

Ex-Old Trafford heroes such as Bryan Robson, Nemanja Vidic, Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole are among those who have similar positions.
