Manchester United boss David Moyes has alternatives should they miss out on Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara. The Daily Star says Moyes will now turn his attention to Lazio's Antonio Candreva and could even revive attempts to persuade former Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric to leave Real Madrid.
Candreva, 26, caught the eye of Moyes while on duty with Italy during the Confederations Cup although United face competition from Napoli for his signature.
The Scot's chances of landing Modric are less likely with new Real boss Carlo Ancelotti keen to make the Croatian maestro a key player in his plans.
