Manchester United great Roy Keane has questioned the quality of Donny van de Beek.
The Dutch midfielder has endured a torrid start to life at Old Trafford after a reported £40million move from Ajax.
The 24-year-old was part of the Eredivisie side that reached the semi-final of the Champions League under Erik ten Hag and was tipped for big things.
However, Man United legend Keane is less than impressed.
"Are you saying he (Van de Beek) is the answer (to Man United's problems)?" asked Keane on Sky Sports. “He played at the end of last season and he was very average. He was very average!
“£40 million is drop in the ocean. £40 million is a drop in the ocean. £40 million!
“Jack Grealish is on the bench and he's £100 million. And he's on the bench."
