Rio Ferdinand believes Slaven Bilic's appointment as manager will be good for West Ham United.
The Croatian was unveiled as Sam Allardyce's replacement on Tuesday and former Hammers defender Ferdinand feels it is a positive move by the club.
"Bilic is a solid appointment. He did a good job with Croatia and showed his credentials," said the Manchester United great.
"He had 18 months at West Ham where he was a very good player and someone I looked up to as a defender. He's a really nice guy. I met him since through a number of friends.
"It seems he has a good future at West Ham and it will be a good place for him to be. West Ham fans will see good things with him as manager."
