Man Utd earned £8 MILLION from US tour

Manchester United have earned a massive £8 MILLION from their tour of the US.

The Mirror says United played lucrative friendlies in Los Angeles, Denver, Washington, Detroit and Miami, in preparation for the new season, which kicks off on August 16.

On the back of their new record-breaking £750m 10-year kit deal with adidas, United boosted their finances further with the money-spinning trek over America, raking in cash from appearance money, prize funds and revenue from TV rights.

United made the bulk of the £8m from their involvement in the International Champions Cup, an eight-team event that also featured Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Louis van Gaal's side won the tournament, beating Liverpool 3-1 in the final in Miami's Sun Life Stadium to bank the winner's prize of £600,000.
