Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is convinced his game has come on rapidly this season.
While injuries have sidelined centre-backs Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, homegrown Evans has shone.
Evans, 26, said: "Playing so many games at this time has given me responsibility, maturity and helped develop my game.
"Last year, especially in the second half of the season, I played nearly every game.
"I always say the more games you play, the more you learn.
"You can do as much training as you want but it's on the pitch you really learn. I've picked up a lot from being in the team and playing a lot."
Battling against the Premier League's big men on a regular basis has also helped Evans 'man-up'. He said: "Physically, it's helped me develop.
"It's a big ask on your body playing that amount of games - and I feel a lot stronger."
