Man Utd Cup hero Amad: I know Ten Hag believes in me

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has said that manager Erik ten Hag believes in him.

Many United fans have felt that Diallo has not received the game time he deserves.

However, the youngster grabbed his chance off the bench to score in the FA Cup quarter final win over Liverpool on Sunday.

“It was an unbelievable day for me," Amad told reporters post-game.

"I want to celebrate this moment with my family and the fans, who supported us all game. I think today was one of the best games for United and I scored a last-minute goal against Liverpool. It was an unbelievable moment for me.

“It is very special for me because it was my dream to play for United. I was in Sunderland last season and I came here to wait for my chance. To score my second goal for United was very important for me.

"We need to stay focused for the next game against Brentford. For me, the most important thing was to win today."

He added on his second yellow for taking his shirt off: “I forgot the first yellow! But it was important we won today, so I am very happy.

“I believe in myself, and I believe in everyone. I want to thank the fans and my family for supporting me every day. It was the perfect moment and I want to celebrate today."

He continued: “I train hard every day and waited for my chance. The manager believes in me. I am on the bench but every time I am ready to come in and fight for the team.

"If I score for the team then I am very happy. He [Ten Hag] gives me a lot of confidence and I want to continue like this. I wait for my chance and, for me, every game is like a Champions League final.

"Whether I start or I am on the bench, it is important for me to be ready every time."
