Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is facing an extended period on the sidelines.
The Daily Star says Lingard has been spotted leaving hospital on crutches following his nightmare Old Trafford debut on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was handed his first United start by Louis van Gaal in the defeat to Swansea, but he lasted only 24 minutes before he was substituted after picking up a knock in a challenge with Ashley Williams.
It is not known how long Lingard will be ruled out for, but he looks unlikely to feature in Sunday's trip to Sunderland.
The England youth international needed crutches to leave Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester yesterday.
