Man Utd continue to work on Weghorst deal

Manchester United are still working on a deal to bring Wout Weghorst to the club.

The Burnley man, who is on loan at Besiktas, is a target for Erik ten Hag this winter.

Weghorst is a tall and powerful striker who offers an alternative to the players ten Hag has at his disposal.

Per the Manchester Evening News, United must agree a compensation package with Besiktas to cut short Weghorst's loan, and then agree terms with Burnley on a loan to the end of the season.

For his part, Weghorst is desperate to play for United for the rest of this season.

United and Burnley have been discussing this deal since December 21, when they met in the Carabao Cup.
