Manchester United reserves coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has welcomed the capture of Michael Owen.
He told the Manchester Evening News: "Michael is a great signing. I have always thought he was an excellent striker. He is a fantastic goalscorer.
"He has that instinct of knowing exactly where to be when he is in the box and here at United you have players who will provide the chances for you. He'll get the goals there is no doubting that.
"He just has that extra knack of getting ahead of defenders. He can get his head in or his toe just ahead of them to nick the ball and convert a half chance. I have played against him so many times and he has wrecked so many of our dreams during his career! It is great that he is here."
