Manchester United chiefs are confident of signing AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The Telegraph says United are confident of securing a £30m swoop for Strootman - but may have to wait until the summer to complete the deal.
United boss Louis van Gaal has made the signing of his Dutch compatriot his No.1 priority.
Van Gaal has been plotting a January move for Strootman, who last month made his eagerly awaited return from a cruciate knee ligament injury.
But, according to the Daily Telegraph, a deal to take the 24-year-old to Old Trafford could be delayed by six months if Roma clinch their place in the Champions League last-16.
