Manchester united and Chelsea are set to do battle for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

Various reports suggest that the Red Devils and Blues are both showing significant interest in the Germany international who is out of contract at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.

United have admired Khedira for a number of years now while Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to reunite with his former defensive midfielder.

Khedira, who has also been linked with Bundesliga club Schalke, is available for free at the end of the season but his enormous wages are likely to provide a stumbling block for any interested parties.
