Man Utd, Chelsea alerted as Bailey's father blasts Bayer Leverkusen coach Herrlich

The father of Leon Bailey has put his son's future at Bayer Leverkusen in fresh doubt.

The Mirror says a number of clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea, have sent scouts to watch the Jamaican starlet at the BayArena, while the FA have looked into whether Bailey is eligible to represent the Three Lions.

Bailey found himself on the substitutes bench for Bayer's German Cup semi-final clash with Bayern Munich in midweek, rested ahead of a crucial top four battle with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

However, his father Craig Butler rapped: "They put him on the bench. They put him on at left-back. They don't pass to him. The opponent double teams him. They kick him down. "What does he do? Gets up and put the free kick in the back of the damn net."

Heiko Herrlich, in his first full season as Bayer boss, had little to say about Butler's thoughts: "I accept his opinion, that's it."
