Manchester United captain Gary Neville admits they battled to put away Wolves in last night's Carling Cup win.
Neville told BBC Radio: "Well we got through tonight, a lot of hard work. A good goal, a very good goal. Excellent move, Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen linking up was fantastic and obviously delighted with the win, down to ten men which makes it more difficult but at Old Trafford, even with ten men we are still confident that we can go on and win a game."
On the Carling Cup being important, Neville was adamant: "Absolutely. It was quite a big crowd for a Carling Cup third round so there is no way we can go out there and give less than our best on all occasions and to be honest with you, for a lot of us, it's a chance to prove ourselves.
"We obviously have a big squad, 23, 24 players, and it's impossible to play all those players in every match so tonight was an opportunity for everyone, particularly younger players and some of the older ones to get a chance and to show what they can do."
