Manchester United captain Harry Maguire insists his form problems this season have had nothing to do with a difficult summer.
Maguire spent an evening in a Greek jail during the offseason break.
But the Manchester United defender says he is "fully focused on football".
"Obviously I had a difficult summer. I am still fully focused each day on improving and taking this side forward," said Maguire.
"We work every day for our fans to have something to celebrate. The process we are going through we are focused and hopefully tomorrow night we can stamp our authority on the group."
Former United captain Roy Keane has criticised the club's lack of leadership in recent weeks, but Maguire says he "has not seen" the Irishman's comments
“We don't bring negativity into the place," said Maguire.
"We stay positive and I can say for sure, there are a lot of leaders in this squad, staff and players."
Asked how he responds to criticism on social media, Maguire said: "I don't read it."
