Man Utd can't use tiredness as an excuse - Neville

Manchester United skip Gary Neville says the players cannot tiredness and fatigue as an excuse if they are to lose out in the race for major trophies this season.

The Red Devils dropped two points behind league rivals Chelsea on the weekend and now face German club Bayern Munich in a knockout match in the Champions League on Wednesday, going into the second leg at home with a 2-1 deficit.

But Neville says it is quite normal to play two to three matches within a week and was quite clear that the United players cannot use a busy schedule as an excuse for potential failure.

"We are more used to playing Wednesday-Saturday than having free weeks," said Neville.

"I don't think it becomes a telling factor.

"Sometimes when you get a free week you can find yourself wondering what to do with yourself because you are so used to playing.

"We are happy to be playing the big games and being in Europe. We have a big squad as well, so the manager may freshen things up.

"We are fine with where we are at."
