Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says Memphis Depay could start at Watford today.
Van Gaal has not started Depay in a Premier League game since United crashed 3-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates at the start of last month.
The manager insists he has not fallen out with Depay but said: "There's always a chance. He is always looking very good in training.
"But I have said that players of that age are not consistent and when at that time you change the player then the other player has a chance.
"And that other player is Jesse Lingard. I don't have any problems with players, but sometimes they are out of the selection because their competitor is in a better shape.
"But that doesn't mean that I have a quarrel with the player. It's a matter of form.
"Of course (expected more from him), because otherwise he would still be in the team.
"Then I don't look for another solution, but I did look for another solution in my team and I have kept Jesse Lingard for that option.
"So now he has to fight back and if he does it, so I am satisfied."
