New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will have to make an early decision over Anderson's future.
Fiorentina have passed up on the option to sign Anderson permanently after a disappointing loan.
The Telegraph says Anderson, whose Old Trafford contract expires in June 2015, is expected back at United for pre-season training at the beginning of July after making just eight appearances for Fiorentina during of his January loan spell.
United had hoped to sell him to the Italian outfit following his failure to justify the transfer fee sanctioned by Sir Alex Ferguson to complete the Brazilian's move seven years ago.
