Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has praised midfielder Mason Mount.

The English star, who arrived in a big money deal from Chelsea in the summer, has been injured for most of the campaign.

However, Mount is now fully fit and did score in a 1-1 draw against Brentford at the weekend.

On Mount, Ten Hag told reporters: "He is a fantastic football player but it is important, first, that he is getting and keeping fit because he has had three injuries, as we have seen now with Licha [Lisandro Martinez].

“You always want to avoid [this], so we have to do this very carefully and so that is the first objective, to keep him fit.

“At the same time, we want to use him so that he can have benefit and contribute to the team, like he did on Saturday, where he had an impact."
