Manchester United boss David Moyes is making an opening bid for Everton fullback Leighton Baines. The Daily Express says United are ready to step up their interest in Leighton Baines by making a £10 million offer for the Everton defender.
United's offer will fall short of Everton's £15m valuation and the Merseyside club will fight hard to keep Baines, who Moyes brought to Goodison from Wigan for £6m in 2007.
