Manchester United boss David Moyes sees PSG star Edinson Cavani as the next big signing he needs to make at Old Trafford. The Daily Star Sunday says he was on United's list of targets for January but approaches to the French superpower were rejected out of hand.
Ex-Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson, now a club director, contacted PSG boss Laurent Blanc before Christmas about landing Cavani in the January window.
But he was told by his former central defender that PSG would not be selling - either now or in the future.
Despite that hands-off message, Moyes remains determined to get Cavani in time for the start of next season.
Much will depend on the ex-Napoli striker. Though a huge success on the pitch since his £50m arrival in Paris, he is reportedly far from settled off it.
