Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was impressed by Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon during Sunday's win.

In his post-match press conference, Mourinho lavished praise on the Boro number 14.

He said: “Boro have a good team, a solid midfield.

“This kid De Roon is phenomenal, his work-rate is phenomenal, they're solid and they play direct.

“We had to fight it, and I have to admit, it was hard for us."

The Middlesbrough midfielder has been one of his side's better players since his club record £12million move from Atalanta last summer.
