Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to step up his bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Daily Star says he will increase their efforts to sign Lukaku in the wake of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's serious injury.

Ibrahimovic will reportedly be ruled out for eight to nine months - prompting talk he could retire.

Mourinho will now step up his attempts to sign Everton star Lukaku.

However, the Red Devils face competition to land the Belgium international.

Chelsea, who sold him to Everton in 2013, are desperate to bring him to back to Stamford Bridge.
