Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was upset over Adnan Januzaj and Wayne Rooney's departures, it has been revealed.

The Manchester Evening News says Mourinho had an issue with both exits.

And that was because he was angry that only Rooney and Januzaj were among the players shown the exit door.

Mourinho supposedly wanted more players of the books to accommodate new signings such as Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof.

But, for a reason unspecified, the Red Devils chose not to embark on a major culling of their squad.

Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind both stayed put despite being linked with moves to Juventus and Barcelona respectively.
