The relationship between Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney seems as strong as ever.

The Daily Mail says Fergie has written the foreword for Rooney's second autobiography My Premiership Years to be published in September in a five-volume series for which HarperCollins have paid £5million.

Ferguson has given his glowing support to the book even though the account of Rooney's decade in the top flight is sure to touch on his big fall-out with the United manager in 2010, which so nearly led to the player leaving Old Trafford.
