Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was fearing the worst when last night's Champions League final went to a penalty shootout.

The man who has won everything revealed this was his FIRST ever competitive success on spot-kicks.

Ferguson said: "That's the first penalty shoot-out I've ever won.

"I've won the Charity Shield [on penalties] ... but the European Cup, Scottish Cup, FA Cup - this is the first shoot-out."
