Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson gave Alex McLeish words of encouragement after victory at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Ferguson had a word with his former Aberdeen captain after the game.

"He just said: 'You've got to keep going,'" said McLeish. "He said a few other things which will remain private but he said they were sweating a bit at the death after our second half."
