Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ending his feud with refs boss Keith Hackett.
The People says after a meeting a fortnight ago, sources say the talks were "positive".
Ferguson was charged by the FA in the meantime for an on-pitch tirade at referee Mike Dean following Manchester United's 4-3 win over Hull last week.
But Professional Game Match Officials - of which Hackett is general manager - hope that unrelated incident doesn't get in the way of an improved working relationship between two senior figures in football.
