Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson did not rule out moving for Chelsea icon Frank Lampard this morning.

Lampard is understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford.

And Ferguson says: "Chelsea are like us. They want to do something. The second half of the season is going to be important to them.

"If they want to try and win the league they will need to have all their best players."

Tellingly, Ferguson's comments did not convey a lack of interest, just a belief Chelsea would want to keep Lampard, says PA Sport.
