Man Utd boss Ferguson admits Man City thrashing still haunts him

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits their 6-1 drubbing by Manchester City remains on his mind.

Ferguson said the result was not getting any easier to take as time went by.

He admitted: "No, not at all. We've looked at that game so many times and it was suicide."

United had Jonny Evans sent off and Fergie told the club magazine: "We were our own worst enemy. We made a basic error of trying to win the game when we were 3-0 down, with 10 men.

"It's drummed into the players to never give in but even in injury-time we kept trying to attack and that left us exposed.

"Had we kept things simple, and not lost our heads, it could have been respectable."
